School of Cleveland Ballet Youth Company is a classically trained youth ballet group made up of young dancers of exceptional potential. The mission of SCBYC is to train dancers (ages 14-18) in preparation of fulfilling Cleveland Ballet's core of professional dancers. The program will serve to provide the foundation of dancers for professional performances by the Cleveland Ballet Company. Acceptance into the SCBYCÂ is by audition only.

TRAINING
Under the artistic director Gladisa Guadalupe, members of the SCBYC will participate in a well-balanced schedule of classes and rehearsals that will include: classical ballet technique, pointe, variations, character and modern. In addition and to compliment the ballet curriculum, classes on conditioning, yoga, injury prevention and preparation, and guidance for auditions are also implemented.

CHOREOGRAPHY
Members of the SCBYCÂ will be exposed to and work closely with artistic faculty of Cleveland Ballet Company as well as other noted choreographers.

PERFORMANCES
SCBYC members will obtain performance experience through outreach workshops, in studio presentations, as well as theatre performances. They will also have the opportunity to perform at such venues as Playhouse Square, Severance Hall, Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland Institute of Music, and more.

AUDITIONS
To audition for SCBYC, you must be between the ages of 14 and 18 years old, have reached an advanced level of classical ballet training, and be currently training at a classical ballet institution.
