Faculty

It is easy for dancers to feel like “just a number” in a trainee program, and that is something that Cleveland Ballet actively works to avoid. The Trainee Program at Cleveland Ballet focuses on each dancer as an individual, recognizing their personal strengths so they can be nurtured and noting personal weaknesses so they can be removed. To reach this goal Cleveland Ballet ensures that their trainees work with the faculty in both a general group and a one-on-one environment. The use of private classes furthers this process so dancers can set and meet the goals they personally need to reach their own career aspirations. This mentoring relationship includes weekly opportunities to work individually with teachers in a private setting while others attend the typically scheduled technique class. Assessment, personalized critique, and individual advising will be given to each trainee to help them grow in and outside the classroom.
